The Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Sacred Heart devotion is rooted in the person of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In the account of the Last Supper St. John decides to remain at the event and draw close to the chest of the Saviour, thus remaining close to the Heart of Jesus rather than being preoccupied with the events unfolding around him. In the example of John we see the importance of being rooted in an awareness of the presence of Christ, most notably signified by His heart, in our daily lives. In the example of St John we should strive to glorify Christ in our thoughts, actions and intentions.

We cannot serve one whom we do not love and we cannot love one whom we do not know. By drawing close to Our Lord’s Sacred Heart we are drawing close to the very center of all that defines reality. Enthroning Our Lord’s Sacred Heart in your life, in your home, and in your family is a great step towards coming to know, to love and to serve Jesus Christ.

To assist you in keeping alive this relationship with Our Lord it is important to continue to grow in knowledge of Him and His Church. You are invited to Know Him more so as to Love Him deeply by attending a yearly Congress of the Sacred Heart to be held in Columbus in the Fall of the year.
