Bishop Watterson High School

“ Having the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart of Mary enthroned in our school since 2016 has been a very powerful reminder of Jesus’ forever presence throughout our campus. The Sacred Heart pictures, images, and statues throughout our building - in all classrooms, offices, locker rooms and even in our elevators - continues to remind all who enter our school about the greatest gift of Christ’s very body, blood, soul and divinity present in our Chapel where we have daily access to adore, pray and honor. The Sacred Heart enthronement has made a tremendous difference in all we do to enhance the Catholic Church’s educational mission and apostolate. We know that Christ, as He promised,  is always with us until the end of time”

Sacred Heart Enthronement Testimony- 2018

My wife Heather and I are lucky enough to have a large family (we have six children), and we strongly desire that they stay close to Jesus and His Church.  Making time to sit down with each one of them is tough, so finding time to teach prayer and catechesis is a handful. We want to teach them the joys of friendship with the Holy Family, and try to pray with them regularly.  We have three children with autism, so prayer time is always a struggle. Ultimately, we want them to know how to:

  • See the clear differences between good and evil

  • Value the power of the Sacraments to stay close to God and increase in strength

  • Establish boundaries around things that are not of God

  • Invite God into their lives (where they work, they play and rest).

We decided to enthrone the Sacred Heart in our home and create a place where Jesus is the center.  The image of His Sacred Heart, along with that of the Immaculate Heart is in the center of our home, where we spend most of our time.  It has proven itself a remarkable area of prayer, of rest and has become a place where the kids can see that the Holy Family is present, within our own.  Heather and I start our days in prayer in that place and let the kids join as they desire. They know their home to be a holy place since they know it now belongs entirely to Jesus.

We can talk to our children all day about how God is important and that they should pray, but it doesn’t always sink in.  I would strongly recommend enthronement as a way to make a “sacred space” in the home, to invite the family to prayer.  When the children see the parents pray; they will know it’s important and will follow. When they see the occasional loving gaze toward His image, they’ll know that God is loved in the home, and they know that God loves in return.

Sacred Heart Testimonial October 2014 - Praise be to Jesus!

After years of struggling with secondary infertility and three miscarriages, we (wife, daughter, me) enthroned our home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in January 2014 to ask for a blessing of an addition to our family. After attending First Friday Mass for eight months, we learned of a young woman who was looking to place her child in an adoption arrangement. My wife and I never felt called to adopt, but we agreed to consider this particular private adoption.

We soon learned that the baby's due date was the Feast Day of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Disciple of the Sacred Heart. We also learned that the birth mother, who was raised Catholic, had an image of the Sacred Heart hanging prominently in her home.

After our ninth First Friday Mass, the adoption was agreed to by the birth mother and my family. The birth mother and my family independently chose the same name for the child. The name was derived from the Sacred Heart.

We are happy to welcome this new life into our home, as the adoption has been made official. We know this was an answered prayer thanks to the Enthronement to the Sacred Heart.

January 2013:

  • One unexpected update from our own Enthronement: one of our children was a little reluctant to participate in the Enthronement, mostly because he wasn't exactly sure what it entailed and was hesitant about "the promises". He has become more secular in his daily life, though was brought up with a traditional faith life...he had simply wandered away to the point to be afraid to believe in God as he struggles in other areas in his life. Since the enthronement, this child began praying the Rosary, on his own again. He also left for college and requested to take the Enthronement with him! We will be doing an enthronement at our sons' home at their request! Thank you for bringing this gift of the Sacred Heart to our family. The promises are a true blessing to each of us.

July 2013:

  • The enthronement team of the Sacred Heart came to our home.  They were very gracious and kind.  the pictures they left were beautiful and we love having them in our living room.  This has been so meaningful to us and we thank all of you for this mission.  God bless you.

Many other written testimonials have been sent in.  Here are some more:

  • My husband and I have been so blessed to participate in the Enthronement ceremony.  We are so grateful for this opportunity to grow in our faith.  Thank you so much and may God continue to bless you and your very important work!

  • Thank you so much for helping our family to enthrone our home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!  Many blessings!

  • The enthronement team was so wonderful guiding us through our family's enthronement!  We are so grateful to them and all of you for providing such a special ministry to our community!

  • A note of thanks to the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart ministry for the enthronement at my mother's assisted living facility.  This is a special blessing for our whole family.

  • Thanks for all you are doing!  May God's peace and abundance surround you.

  • A team came to our home to help us enthrone our home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  We were privileged to have the Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima in our home for a week too.  The team also gave us the booklets and two beautiful pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary for our home.  The team was wonderful and we were blessed to meet with them and share our faith.  We appreciated both of the visits and we were received with much joy and love.  Thank you for all you do.  May God continue to bless your good work.  We look forward to the Sacred Heart Congress this year.

  • Thank you for helping us enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  We know many blessings will come from it as well as giving witness to God's great and merciful love in Christ.  May God bless you and this apostolic work of His.

  • Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in our home was the very best choice that strengthened us in faith and pushed us to the next level of relationship with God as well as our Lady of Fatima to intercede for us.  We began to pray together as a family with renewed faith and relationship.  We prayed for support, guidance, and protection to be the children of God and experienced our Lord's mercy, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and peace.  Beautiful moments were those times when we gather together as His children and look towards our Lord to shepherd and guide us and also to give thanks, praise, and glory from our hearts to our God.  Experienced the unconditional and infinite love that God has for His children and to know him, love and serve him through our everyday choices.  We pray every day for our Lord to give us the grace to be faithful to Him and be on the path to be a true disciple of Christ our Savior.  Our son who was experiencing some troubles in school due to his medical condition had become better with our Lord's protection and guidance.  My wife was traveling abroad and had prayed for her safety and protection abroad.  Prayed to God to take care or our family and everything went well with our Lord's trust and care.  Enthronement of the Sacred Heart helped us to bridge the gap between human's finite love and God's infinite love and get closer to Him.  We pray every day to receive the necessary graces from the Sacred Heart through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima to love, obey and be the true and faithful servants of God until His second coming to enter into the Kingdom of God.
